In conjunction with the announcement of the BMW M3 updates and M3 Pure launch, BMW Australia has also announced pricing and updates to the 2017 BMW M4 range.

The M4 range also has the addition of the BMW M4 Pure coupe. Priced from $139,900 (excluding on-roads) the M4 Pure brings the performance of the Competition variant with new specifications.

The Pure, much like its M3 counterpart, brings unique 19-inch black light-alloy double-spoke wheels, seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (six-speed manual available as a no-cost option), alarm system, BMW M head-up display, carbon fibre roof (steel roof if sunroof is optioned), comfort access, ConnectedDrive Freedom, driving assistant, carbon-fibre interior trims, Navigation System Professional, tyre pressure monitor, carbon structure cloth or leather upholstery and LED Headlights.

BMW Group Australia CEO, Marc Werner commented, “We are also pleased to reveal the M4 Pure variant for our local market. The Pure puts an even-sharper focus on the driver by combining the popular Competition package with an extremely competitive price point. It’s a true ‘enthusiast’s choice’.”

Updates across the rest of the BMW M4 range include adaptive LED headlights and new L-shaped rear LED tail lights, the option of 20-inch black light-alloy wheels, double stitched highlights around the instrument panel, electroplated details, chrome interior trims, snapping indicator stalks and an illuminated ‘M4’ badge on the front face of the M sports seats.

On the technology front, the M4 range also gets upgraded to the iDrive6 infotainment system which incorporates BMW Navigation system Professional on the 8.8-inch colour touchscreen display.

The 2017 BMW M4 Competition Coupe and Convertible also get an increase in power up to 331kW with 550Nm torque as well as improvements to the adaptive M suspension system.

M Sport seats for the driver and front passenger and M stripe seat belts are also added to the package on the inside, with gloss black highlights including boot-lid ‘M4’ badge, M Competition exhaust tailpipes, exterior gills, and kidney grille added to the outside.

The updated BMW M4 and M4 Competition variants will be available from June 2017 with the M4 Pure joining them in July.
