Toyota has continued the rollout of updates across its range with specifications and pricing for the 2017 model year Yaris announced.
 
Toyota has focused on style and safety for the 2017 Yaris.
 
The three-tier range features a new front bumper, lights and grille. There is also changes at the back with a new tailgate design featuring a new-look light cluster.
 
Toyota's executive director sales and marketing Tony Cramb said the more stylish Yaris adds to its appeal as an affordable, economical and fun-to-drive car with a spacious interior.
 
"In addition, Yaris now offers advanced safety systems that can help prevent an accident happening, or lessen the consequences if an impact does occur," Mr Cramb said.
 
Safety is the headline act in the new Yaris, the top-of-the-range ZR gets advanced safety features including a pre-collision system with autonomous emergency braking, lane departure alert and automatic high beam.
 
Pleasingly, the new safety kit can be optioned on the on the entry level Ascent and mid-range SX for $650.
 
All Yaris variants come standard with seven airbags, a reversing camera, vehicle stability and traction control, anti-skid brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist, and an emergency brake signal that flashes the hazard lights.
 
The Japanese-built Yaris hatch range is offered Australia with a 1.3-litre four-cylinder engine in Ascent grade or a 1.5-litre engine for SX and ZR. Both engines are Euro 5 emissions compliant.
 
The updated design and safety inclusions have added $650 to the top spec ZR model, while the Ascent and SX have had no change.
