Preceding the arrival of the all-new 2018 Honda Civic Type R in dealerships, a special Red Edition pack has been added to the options list of the new Civic hatch.
The Civic Red Edition pack will be available for $2,498 (fitted) on each of the four hatch grades – Vti, VTI-S, VTi-L and VTi-LX – for the first 228 buyers who tick the box.
This number is significant in that it reflects the power output of 228kW on the all-new Honda Civic Type R. The high-tech 2.0-litre VTEC Turbo engine also produces 400Nm of torque to complement this 228kW of power.
All Honda Civic Red Edition cars will be covered under the new five-year/unlimited kilometre warranty program recently introduced by Honda.
Included in the Red Edition pack will be the choice of White Orchid Pearlescent, Lunar Silver Metallic, Sonic Grey Pearlescent, and Crystal Black Pearlescent paint, 17-inch black alloy wheels, red front under spoiler, red rear under spoiler, Red side skirts and Red Edition floor mats.
Honda Australia Director, Mr. Stephen Collins, commented: “When we launched the Civic sedan last year, we developed the “Black Pack” accessories and early this year we produced a limited run of “Orange Pack” accessories for the Civic hatch. Both were very popular with customers and sold out.”

The Red Edition pack may prove to be very popular as more than 420 orders are already in for the Civic Type R. Honda Australia are expecting up to 495 Type Rs to be in Australia before the end of the year though.
