To mark 50 years of the flagship XJ luxury sedan, Jaguar has launched a new special edition, the XJ50.

Both a standard and a long wheelbase will be available with the option of a 3.0-litre petrol or 3.0-litre diesel powertrain capable of 250kW and 221kW respectively.

Exterior upgrades for the XJ50 include Autobiography-style front and rear bumpers, black front grille, special badging on the rear and side vents and new 20-inch Venom wheels.

There are four colours available, Fuji White, Santorini Black, Loire Blue and Rosello Red.

Internally, soft-grain diamond-quilted seats with the headrest featuring an embossed leaper and the centre armrest getting an XJ50 logo can be found. There is also intaglio branding, XJ50-badged illuminated treadplates, anodised gearshift paddles and bright metal pedals to set the anniversary edition apart.

Full Australian specifications and pricing for the Jaguar XJ50 are yet to be confirmed though order books are expected to be open soon with the first crop arriving before the end of the year.
