2018 Skoda Karoq specs and pricing

Australian specifications and pricing have been released for the 2018 Skoda Karoq, the new SUV officially goes on sale July 2 with a starting price of $29,990 plus on-road costs.

At launch, Skoda will offer just one trim level, the 1.5 TSI with will be powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine producing 110Kw and 250Nm. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, while a seven-speed DSG can be optioned raising the base price to $32,290 plus on-roads.

The 1.5 TSI will drive the front wheels only, a more powerful all-wheel drive version is on the cards for 2019.

It’s an economical SUV, combined fuel consumption in the manual is rated at 5.7L/100km for the manual and 5.8L/100km for the DSG.

In terms of grunt, the Karoq will hit triple figures from a standstill in 8.4 (manual) or 8.6 seconds (DSG).

One of the Karoq’s biggest selling points is the VarioFlex system which offers the flexibility to use the car as a five-, four-, three- or two-seater.

With the rear seats in place, the Karoq offers 479 litres of luggage space, by folding the rear seats flat the capacity increase to 1605 litres, with the rear seats removed the total cargo volume comes in at a significant 1810 litres.
