The all-new 2019 Range Rover Evoque has been revealed, the second-generation of the popular British SUV is set to launch Down Under in the second quarter of next year featuring new styling, interior and drivetrain technology.

Developed on the new Premium Transverse Architecture, the Evoque has been repackaged with the wheelbase now 21mm longer than the predecessor. Ground clearance is 212mm with a maximum wading depth of 600mm allowing the Evoque to be capable both on- and off-road.

21-inch wheels, super-slim Matrix LED headlamps and flush door handles add to the overall aesthetic of the new Evoque. Two new exterior colours will also be available - Seoul Pearl Silver and Nolita Grey.

Borrowing heavily from the larger Velar stablemate, the interior styling of the Evoque incorporates a range of new materials with a sustainable emphasis. Two new seat options are available, one is a wool blend paired with Dinamica suedecloth which is made from recycled plastic bottles whilst the other is a new Eucalyptus Melange textile, one for the vegans.

From launch, a variety of powertrains will be available including mild-hybrid electric, petrol and diesel engines.

The new 48-volt mild-hybrid electric powertrain will harvest energy during deceleration and store it in the underfloor battery.

Six Ingenium four-cylinder powertrains will be available with three petrol (147kW/320Nm, 183kW/365Nm and a 221kW/400Nm MHEV) and three diesel options (110kW/380Nm, 132kW/430Nm and 177kW/500Nm).

A plug-in hybrid model is expected to join the line-up within 12 months as well.

The ZF nine-speed automatic gearbox has been recalibrated to make it smoother and more progressive on all surfaces.

Terrain Response 2 and all-wheel-drive are standard with a variety of all-terrain technologies also available including hill descent control, gradient release control and all-terrain progress control.

In a world-first, ClearSight ground view is also available which provides the driver with a view of the ground beneath the vehicle thanks to cameras in the front grille and door mirrors which project the view onto the touchscreen with a virtual 180-degree view.

Another new technology included on the Evoque is the smart rear-view mirror which transforms into an HD video screen displaying a view behind the vehicle.

Jaguar Land Rover’s Touch Pro Duo infotainment system is also integrated into the cabin with two 10-inch high-definition glass touchscreens as well as a 12.3-inch driver display and full-colour head-up display.

Technophiles will also appreciate the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as click & go rear-seat tablet holders with charging capability, 4G WiFi hotspot (for up to eight devices), six USB slots located throughout the cabin and the Smart Setting technology which allows the vehicle to learn driver preferences.

The 2019 Range Rover Evoque will go on sale in Australia priced from $64,640 plus on-road costs with full local specifications and pricing to follow.
