Renault Australia has confirmed the mid-size Kadjar SUV, will arrive in Australian showrooms in 2019.

The Kadjar has just received an update and Australia will get the facelifted version which will sit between the Captur and Koleos.

In European markets, three engines are available, two petrol units (1.3- and 1.5-litre) and a turbo-diesel (1.8-litre). There’s also the option of front and all-wheel drive.

Andrew Moore, Managing Director of Renault Australia said: “the stylish Kadjar mid-size SUV is a strong seller in Europe and along with our smaller Captur SUV and larger Koleos SUV product offerings, will provide Renault with a genuine SUV line-up to appeal to a wide range of Australian customers.”

“The Kadjar boasts sleek lines that flow in a sporty yet elegant European fashion and is well placed to take the challenge right up to the established Japanese and Korean competitors as a refined European SUV, with torquey turbo performance and an upmarket interior.”

Renault is enjoying success with the Koleos SUV, it’s the brand’s best-selling car by some margin, so it makes sense for the brand to increase its SUV portfolio.

Australian specifications and pricing will be announced closer to the Kadjar’s local launch in 2019. Stay tuned.
