Hyundai has announced a new addition to the 2020 Santa Fe line-up in the form of the Active X model priced from $47,200 plus on-road costs.

The Active X is positioned between the entry-level Active and mid-spec Elite variants.

When compared to the base car, the Active X adds 18-inch alloy wheels, leather trim, proximity smart key, front parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers, dual-zone climate control with automatic defog, glovebox compartment cooling, privacy glass, power-folding mirrors and satin chrome exterior door handles.

Every Santa Fe gets a comprehensive list of safety tech including autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear-cross traffic avoidance assist, lane keeping assist, high beam assist and adaptive cruise control with stop and go.

Like the wider Santa Fe range, the Active X is available with the 206kW/336Nm 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine with front-wheel drive, or the 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine producing 148kW and 440Nm with all-wheel drive. Both powertrains use an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The Santa Fe Active X is available in dealerships now.
