Local specs and pricing have been confirmed for the all-new Peugeot 508 range.
 
Peugeot will offer the 508 in Fastback and Sportswagon body styles, with pricing from $53,990 and $55,990 respectively.
 
Each body style will be available solely in GT trim with power coming from a new 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine developing 165kW and 300Nm. Drive is sent to the front wheels through the new Aisin eight-speed automatic transmission that recently debuted on the 308 GT.
 
Peugeot claims the 508 can accelerate from a standstill to 100km/h in 8.1 seconds (8.2 seconds for Sportwagon), while fuel consumption is rated at 6.3L/100km on the combined cycle.
 
Equipment highlights include full LED headlights and tail-lights, adaptive suspension, electric tailgate opening with gesture control, Nappa leather seats with driver and passenger massage, wireless phone charging, a 10-speaker Focal audio system, and the latest version of Peugeot’s iCockpit that comprises a digital instrument cluster and a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
 
This safety pack includes autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control with highway positioning assist, lane keep assist, driver attention alert and adaptive high-beam.
 
Optional equipment is limited to an opening panoramic sunroof ($2500) and a choice of six metallic and two pearlescent paint colours ($590 and $1050 respectively). Hurricane Grey is a no-cost option.
