An announcement today confirmed 35 examples of the Abarth 695 Rivale Special Edition are headed Down Under in celebration of the heritage of the Riva Yachts.

Based on the 595 Competizione, the Abarth 695 Rivale Special Edition is powered by the same 132kW 1.4-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine. Buyers will have the choice of a five-speed manual or a five-speed robotised manual transmission.

In manual guise, a mechanical limited slip differential, from the 695 Biposto, is also included.

Available in both hatch and cabriolet versions, the Rivale Edition will feature a new two-tone finish with Riva Blue and Tributo Ferrari Grey which is said to be reminiscent of Lake Iseo, where the Riva brand was born.

Each Rivale also gets a numbered badge and the cabriolet versions also feature a blue soft-top.

Equipment highlights include satin chrome front dam and rear bumper inserts, satin chrome moulding on the back door, 17-inch alloy wheels, xenon headlights, Rivale badge on the back door and rear fender, wood dashboard cover, blue leather seats and a 7.0-inch TFT instrument display.

All 35 of the Abarth 695 Rivale Special Edition vehicles are available to order now from $44,990 plus on-road costs with the first deliveries expected in the first quarter of 2019.
