SUV specialist Haval has revealed its first fully autonomous pure electric SUV, the brand’s most tech-laden concept yet will be badged as the WEY X.

For the first time, an L5 autonomous driving performance will be offered meaning the artificial intelligence system will be able to function in a similar way to a highly trained human driver. This driving ability is also expected to be achieved even on dirt roads and in bad weather conditions.

Whilst it is the first time we will see the autonomous driving gadgetry, this is not the first time Haval has revealed a pure electric vehicle as the XEV was unveiled at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The WEY X aims to slot into the existing vehicle to vehicle (V2V) and vehicle to infrastructure (V2I) technology as the integrated transportation network continues to expand.

Theoretically, with the network and the latest autonomous driving technology, the WEY X should be able to identify and even predict potential hazards ahead of time and act to mitigate any accidents.

A touch of 007 wizardry will also be fitted with the WEY X as the traditional keys and buttons are replaced by a full biometric identification system. Each registered user will be able to set the car to their preferences including seats, music preferences and preferred navigation information.

The WEY X will make its debut alongside the hybrid P8, at Auto China 2018 in Beijing from April 25 until May 4.
