HSV has announced the Colorado SportsCat dual-cab ute will now be backed with a five-year unlimited-kilometre warranty.

The beefed-up warranty coverage should have been expected with the imminent release of the Ranger Raptor and Ford moving to a five-year package.

This also means SportsCat buyers will now enjoy the same warranty provisions as Holden customers.

The SportsCat’s new warranty coverage applies to all sales of new and demonstrator models sold on, or after, July 1, 2018, and also includes five years roadside assistance.

“We’ve been delighted with the level of acceptance of our first new foray into the 4x4 pick-up market, and the availability of a five-year warranty, with five years roadside assistance, will only further strengthen the vehicle’s appeal,” said HSV’s Managing Director, Tim Jackson.

Offering a premium 4x4 ute represented a change of direction for HSV following the end of local Commodore production. The brand elected not to retune the 2.8-litre 147kW/500Nm Duramax turbo diesel engine found in the regular Holden Colorado.

Instead of chasing gains in power, HSV engineers spent their time working on the SportsCat’s chassis to deliver improvements in ride quality, handling and off-road performance.
