Jaguar has announced MY2018 updates for its F-PACE, XF and XE model lines.

There are improvements in performance, comfort, safety and efficiency across the range.

The most significant changes come in the form of new engines. The brand will deploy their Ingenium engines for the 2018 model year. Two all-new four-cylinder Ingenium petrol engines will be introduced alongside a high-output 177kW diesel.

The new 2.0-litre four-cylinder Ingenium petrol engines are rated at 147kW (available with XE and XF) and 184kW respectively. The 147kW engine will be identified by a 20t badge, while the 184kW unit will be badged 25t.

The Ingenium petrol engines take advantage of Jaguar Land Rover’s low friction all-aluminium-intensive design which promises to improve efficiency and dynamics.

The diesel range is complimented by a 177kW 2.0-litre four-cylinder twin turbo Ingenium engine that outputs 500Nm to blend both performance and economy.

In terms of comfort, seats in the F-PACE and XF gain winged headrests and feature a powered height adjustment.

The infotainment unit has been upgraded and all models now include Dual View technology. This allows the driver and front passenger to view different infotainment displays on the 10-inch touchscreen. Disappointingly, it appears Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not available.

Improved safety comes in the form of Forward Traffic Detection and Forward Vehicle Guidance. XE and XF models get Blind Spot Assist (BSA) which enhances Jaguar Land Rover’s existing Blind Spot Monitor system.

To determine when Australian specification and pricing would be confirmed, Car Conversation contacted James Scrimshaw, product public affairs manager for Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Australia, who told us: “We expect to have pricing and final spec for each trim level available toward end of March.”

Stay tuned for further updates as they become available.

Car Conversation will be reviewing a Jaguar XE later this month.

Let’s start a Car Conversation, can anyone share a Jaguar ownership experience? Are any current owners looking to upgrade to the updated model?
