Mercedes-AMG has revealed another four-door performance coupe, the GT 43 4Matic+.

The 43 will open the four-door GT range slipping underneath the 53 and 63 variants. It’s powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six which pumps out 270kW of power and 500Nm of torque. Peak torque is available between 1800-5800rpm.

Like many new models wearing the three-pointed star, the GT 43 will feature ‘EQ Boost’ technology, it combines the starter and alternator in one electric motor to feed the 48V electrical system. The benefit is an additional 16kW and 250Nm for short bursts.

A nine-speed automatic transmission sends power to each corner through an all-wheel drive system with fully variable torque distribution.

Mercedes-AMG is claiming a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 270km/h. European consumption tests rate fuel usage at 9.1-9.4L/100km which sounds very optimistic.

Mercedes-Benz Australia is yet to confirm whether the GT 43 4Matic+ will make it into local dealerships.
