The new Toyota Corolla Cross SUV has been revealed ahead of an Australian launch in 2022.
 
Locally, the Corolla Cross will be positioned between the upcoming Yaris Cross and the larger RAV4, it will share the space currently occupied by the C-HR.
 
Built on the GA-C platform, which underpins the Corolla hatch and sedan, Toyota has stated that both petrol and petrol-electric hybrid powertrains will be available. Expect the 125kW/200Nm 2.0-litre petrol engine and 90kW 1.8-litre petrol-electric hybrid system to make an appearance when it comes to Oz.
 
Beyond this, no further details have been announced. Toyota Australia Vice President Sales and Marketing Sean Hanley said: "Corolla Cross is not only stylish and versatile, it delivers the superior practicality demanded by customers in this segment including the high driving position, great visibility, spacious interior and ample head clearance.”
 
The new Corolla Cross SUV will launch in 2022 with specific details, specifications and pricing to be announced closer to its arrival.
