Owners of a fresh new MY17 and MY18 Amarok fitted with a V6 engine may be affected by an incorrectly fitted clip which could potentially cause damage to the power steering return hose.
If the hose does become damaged by the clip, hydraulic fluid may be discharged from the hose and a loss of power steering assistance would occur. This could pose a safety risk to vehicle occupants and other road users.
6307 local cars is affected by the recall, owners will be contacted by direct mail and advised to arrange an inspection and repair of the vehicle at the nearest Volkswagen dealership. VINs from affected vehicles are available on the ACCC website.
