Adding another award to the growing list, the Volvo XC60 midsized SUV has been announced as the 2018 World Car of the Year.

Following on from little sister Volvo XC40 winning the European Car of the Year earlier this year, the XC60 has been judged and voted on by a panel of 82 international automotive journalists from 24 countries to take out the prestigious title from a list of 34 vehicles.

Nick Connor Managing Director of Volvo Car Australia said, “Our company’s product investments are paying off. The world automotive industry is very competitive and Australia is no different. So this award for our XC60 shows that we have the right combination of exterior and interior design. Our thought and craftsmanship is what inspires and, this combined with connectivity and safety appeals all around the world.”

The new XC60 is one of our favourite premium SUVs – read our review of the Inscription variant here.
