From 2018 the Ford Performance family will have a new member in the desert-racing inspired off-road variant, the Ford Ranger Raptor.

Designed and built to look tough and perform off-road, the Ford Ranger Raptor aims to bring something new to the mid-sized ute segment.

Trevor Worthington, vice president, product development, Ford Asia Pacific said, “Ford Ranger Raptor will offer Ranger fans a fantastic opportunity to own an authentic off-road performance version of their favourite truck for the first time.”

The Ford Ranger Raptor will aim to combine the success of the Ford Ranger with the off-road capabilities of the ‘Raptor’ to create a new and distinctive breed of ute.

“Combining the Raptor’s advanced off-road capabilities with the versatility of the Ranger is a significant accomplishment for Ford’s world-class engineering and design teams,” said Jamal Hameedi, chief engineer, Ford Performance.

The Ford Ranger Raptor will join the rank of vehicles carrying the Ford Performance DNA which includes the likes of the Ford GT, Ford Mustang Shelby, Focus RS and Focus ST.
Stay tuned for specifications and pricing in the not-too-distant-future.
