Hot on the heels of last week’s announcement of a Prado Altitude Special Edition, Toyota has done a similar number on the LandCruiser 200 Series.

Based on the GXL turbo-diesel models, the 2017 Toyota LandCruiser 200 Series Altitude Special Edition brings a significant amount of upgraded equipment.

Toyota claims the 2017 LandCruiser 200 Series Altitude focuses on improving luxury, comfort, convenience and safety features.

The exterior of the Altitude is differentiated by LED fog lamps, rain-sensing wipers and Altitude badging.

On the inside, there is leather-accented upholstery, power adjustments for the front seats, and a refrigerated cool box.  Interior presentation is kicked up a notch with chrome-tipped front air vents and brushed alloy-look ornamentation.

Drivers of the 2017 LandCruiser 200 Series Altitude will enjoy the addition of high-quality LED Optitron meters and a 4.2-inch multi-information display.

The addition equipment brings the price to $93,460 plus on-road costs. The pricing represents a $4,630 premium over the GXL turbo-diesel.

The 2017 LandCruiser 200 Series Altitude is available in five exterior colours, black (no extra cost) and premium white, silver, graphite and blue shades ($550).

Toyota Australia's executive director sales and marketing Tony Cramb said the LandCruiser 200 Series Altitude was ideally placed in the middle of the turbo-diesel variants of the company's peak off-road vehicle.

"Comprehensive upgrades make the Altitude the ideal choice for those who aspire to a vehicle that delivers an even more luxurious and desirable package," Mr Cramb said.

The 2017 LandCruiser 200 Series Altitude is powered by the GXL's 200kW, 650Nm 4.5-litre twin-turbo diesel engine and paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.

The LandCruiser 200 Series Altitude benefits from the extensive list of standard equipment from the GXL, including 17-inch alloy wheels, aluminium side steps, keyless entry and ignition, dual-zone climate control air-conditioning, a 6.1-inch touchscreen display with operating satellite navigation and DAB+ radio.

Safety is catered for with seven airbags, reversing camera, vehicle stability and active traction control, multi-terrain anti-skid brakes, hill-start assist and trailer sway control.

The LandCruiser 200 Series Altitude Special Edition is limited to just 600 vehicles and is available to order now.
