2018 BMW 2 Series Active Tourer specs and pricing

Australian specifications and pricing have been revealed for the updated 2018 BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, the Bavarian brand’s most unnecessary model will be priced from $49,500 plus on-road costs.
 
Making up the refresh is a restyled exterior and interior as well as an updated drivetrain.
 
For 2018, the 2 Series Active Tourer will be available as a single variant, the 220i Luxury Line.
 
Exterior changes come in the form of a bolder appearance, new LED headlights and front fog lights, hexagonal DRLs, a revised and enlarged kidney grille and single-piece front apron.
 
At the rear, a redesigned Luxury Line rear apron is found which has made room for new 90mm twin exhausts for a sportier aesthetic, further emphasized by new 18-inch light alloy wheels.
 
Sunset Orange and Jucaro Beige metallic colours join the pallet taking the options to 12 exterior paint finishes. With the M Sport Package fitted Estoril Blue joins the list, as do five additional wheel choices.
 
On the inside, a new gear selector and redesigned seats covered in Dakota leather with extended seat cushions are standard.
 
There’s also an automatic tailgate allowing access to the 468-litres of storage capacity.
 
Infotainment is displayed on a new 6.5-inch colour touchscreen which includes satellite navigation as standard with the iDrive6 system, an 8.8-inch touchscreen is an option.
 
Power comes from an updated 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine which produces 141kW and 280Nm. The torque converter automatic has been replaced by a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission that sends power to the front wheels – yet it’s still a BMW.
 
For an MVP, the 0-100km/h time of 7.4 seconds is reasonable.
 
As well as the M Sport Package there are two further packages which can be optioned  - the Innovations Package and the Comfort Package.
 
The BMW 2 Series 220i Active Tourer is available across Australia now from $49,500 plus on-road costs.
