BMW has confirmed the 620d will join the 6 Series Gran Turismo range in October priced from $99,900 plus on-road costs.
Power comes from a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel which produces 140kW of power and 400Nm of torque. The oiler is matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear.
BMW claims a 0 to 100 km/h sprint time of 7.9 seconds and consumption of 5.4L/100km on the combined cycle.
The 620d joins the 2.0-litre turbo petrol 630i ($123,500) and the 3.0-litre 640i xDrive ($148,529) in the 6 Series line-up.
Standard equipment on the 620d includes rear air suspension, panoramic sunroof, adaptive LED headlights, high-beam assist, powered tailgate and 19-inch light alloy wheels.
Other highlights include Dakota leather trim, Navigation System Professional with 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, DAB+ digital radio and a head-up display.
Driving Assistant Plus is also standard which brings adaptive cruise control with stop & go, front and rear cross traffic alert, lane keep assist, steering assist, rear collision prevention and active side collision prevention.
BMW will offer the 620d with a variety of option packages which are listed below.
M Sport Package ($6500)
The M Sport package adds adaptive 2-axle air suspension, front sports seats, 19-inch M light alloy wheels, Anthracite roofliner, Shadow Line dark gloss exterior trims, wood inlays, M steering wheel, M Aerodynamics Package, trapezoidal exhaust pipes and an overload of M badges.
Exclusive Package ($6500)
The Exclusive Package adds Nappa leather upholstery, 20-inch light alloy wheels, adaptive 2-Axle air suspension, comfort seats with lumbar support and front seat heating to standard Luxury Line-equipped vehicles.
Innovations Package ($1600)
Opting for the Innovations Package adds the multi-functional BMW display key and enables both remote control parking as well as gesture control.
Comfort Package ($2700 with Luxury Line or $3500 with M Sport)
The Comfort Package offers front and rear seat heating, four-zone automatic climate control, ambient air, electric roller sunblinds for rear side windows and electric rear seat backrest adjustment (for M Sport; standard on Luxury Line).
