SsangYong Australia has confirmed specifications and pricing for the 2019 Rexton SUV range, the seven-seat family hauler will launch in November priced from $39,990 drive-away.

As with the Musso, the Rexton will be available in three trim levels – EX, EXL and Ultimate. All Rexton models will be backed by a Kia equalling seven-year, unlimited kilometre warranty with seven years roadside assistance and capped-price servicing.

The range will open with the $39,990 drive-away EX 2WD powered by a 165kW turbocharged petrol engine, matched to a six-speed automatic transmission.

Standard features on the EX include autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, dual-zone air conditioning and an infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Stepping up a level to the ELX ($46,990 drive-away) swaps the petrol engine for a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel unit delivering 133kW and 420Nm with power going to all four wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission sourced from Mercedes-Benz.

The ELX also scores upgraded seats, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and lane change assist.

At the business end of the range is the Ultimate, it features the same drivetrain as the ELX and gains some additional luxuries such as heated and ventilated leather seats, 20-inch alloy wheels, 360-degree camera, sunroof and a powered tailgate.
