Suzuki has finally launched the long awaited, newly created 2017 Swift. Available in four grades - GL, GL Navigator, GL Navigator with Safety Pack and GLX Turbo - the all-new Swift comes packed with features in fresh new packaging.

The 2017 Suzuki Swift has undergone a drastic make-over, and now features stronger fender lines, a higher nose and wider grille at the front-end and blacked-out pillars for a floating roof effect.

The new Swift is powered by a 1.2-litre Dualjet engine, in grades up to the GL Navigator with Safety Pack, with the GLX Turbo utilising a 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbocharged direct-injection engine.

The GL variant is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The two GL Navigator models get a CVT, while the GLX is supplied with a six-speed automatic.

The new powertrain is joined by a completely new chassis and body structure.

The top two grades will feature a forward detection system, lane departure warning, weaving alert as well as high beam assist.

The interior also features some great new inclusions like the seven-inch touch display multimedia unit with built in sat-nav, reversing camera, and both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, all as standard from the GL Navigator grade up.

Suzuki Australia Automobiles Director, Andrew Moore said, “The new Swift has been five years in the making with a lot of that time dedicated to implementing and perfecting systems and features based specifically on what our customers have told us they want. The end result is something that I could not be prouder of, and something that perfectly marries together bold innovation with the Swift DNA we all know and love.”

The best news of all though is that the new Suzuki Swift is introduced at a driveaway price from $16,990.

“The new Swift is without doubt the best value light hatch on the market – no one else can provide features like sat nav, reversing camera and alloy wheels in its entry auto; no-one else offers the advanced safety features such as AEB and radar cruise under $20,000” said Moore.

2017 Suzuki Swift Pricing (drive away)

GL (Manual) - $16,990
GL Navigator (CVT) - $17,990
GL Navigator with Safety Pack (CVT) - $19,190
GLX (Auto) - $22,990

Let’s start a Car Conversation, are the standard safety features alone enough to sell the all-new Suzuki Swift?
