Italian supercar manufacturer Lamborghini is on track for a record-breaking year with sales up by 11 per cent in the first half of 2018.

As of the end of June, Lamborghini has delivered 2327 cars worldwide fuelled by greater demand in the UK and Italy.

The US remains Lamborghini’s largest single market followed by Japan and the UK. The strongest region was Europe with an increase of more than 30 per cent.

Interestingly, worldwide deliveries of the new Urus SUV are yet to officially commence, meaning the boost in sales is based on demand for the Huracan and Aventador sports car models.

Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. said: “the success is all the more remarkable as we master the unprecedented double challenge of creating new models in our super sports car range, while simultaneously ramping up the production of our highly acclaimed Super SUV Urus.”

With the Urus SUV at its disposal for the latter half of 2018, the brand is almost certain to maintain its record pace.

Globally, the demand for premium SUVs is strong. This fact, combined with the affordability of the Urus in the context of Lamborghini’s range could be enough to make it the brand’s best-selling car.
