The 2018 Jeep Wrangler will be showing off its latest technology features at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

Kitted out with the fourth-generation Uconnect system with an 8.4-inch display, 4G LTE connected services, enhanced processing power, multi-touch gestures, vivid imagery, sharper graphics and the ability to support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support smartphone mirroring, the Wrangler will have lots to show.

For the first time, the all-new Jeep Adventure Reality app will also be displayed for the 2018 Wrangler which gives users the ability to configure their new Jeep Wrangler on their iPhone or iPad.

Four 2018 Jeep Wrangler models will be on display including the 2018 Jeep Wrangler Sahara, two Jeep Wrangler Rubicon models and a Mopar-modified Jeep Wrangler Sport, which is uniquely customized with a selection of Jeep Performance Parts and accessories from Mopar.

Many hands-on demonstrations will also be available to give consumers the chance to experience all-new features and connected services. These include the all-new Jeep Adventure Reality app, Uconnect App Smartwatch Compatibility, Family Alerts, Drive 'n Save, Online Search for Uconnect navigation and Jeep skill for Amazon Alexa and Amazon Echo Dot Device.

Jeep Adventure Reality App: A ‘build your own’ augmented reality configuration tool which allows users to configure their own vehicle to see what it would look like. Options include trim levels, colours, wheels, door number, roof choice and more. The app is interactive meaning doors can be removed, windshields go up and down, headlights go on and off and much more; users can even honk the horn. Once completed users can share the creation on social media, find a dealer and get pricing information.

Uconnect App Smartwatch Compatibility: This technology allows owners to stay connected with their vehicle via their Apple Watch or Android Wear device. Owners will be able to remotely start their vehicle, lock and unlock doors, sound the horn and flash lights via their smartwatch. Uconnect App Smartwatch compatibility is currently available for model-year 2018 vehicles equipped with SiriusXM Guardian connected services.

Family Alerts: For peace of mind vehicle owners can set boundary limits, monitor driving speed and pinpoint vehicle location at any time via the Uconnect Smartphone app, especially if the kids borrow the car or an elderly parent is behind the wheel. There are four main settings: boundary alert, curfew alert, speed alerts and valet alert. Family Alerts services require a subscription to SiriusXM Guardian connected services and is currently available on the 2018 model-year vehicles equipped with a Uconnect 4C NAV system.

Drive ‘n Save: Owners with Uconnect can benefit from insurance based on good driving habits which measure parameters such as smooth acceleration, braking cautiously and minimizing late-night driving. 2018 models must be equipped with Uconnect Access or SiriusXM Guardian connected services and owners need to sign up with a participating insurance company. Uconnect will then collect data on how the vehicle is driven. A personal driving score is generated which can be viewed via a VIN-specific account on Mopar.com. Data will continue to be collected for three months to validate accuracy. Personal information is private and the score is anonymous until an insurance company is contacted via the online account.

Online Search for Uconnect Navigation: Available for vehicles with Uconnect navigation, Online Search allows drivers to get up-to-date search results directly from the cloud using a built-in cellular connection. Using the 8.4-inch touchscreen display, owners can use the Point of Interest search box to locate a larger variety of locations whilst avoiding places that are no longer operating.

Jeep Skills for Amazon Alexa and Amazon Echo Dot Devices: Alexa is the voice service for Amazon and drives Amazon Echo, Echo Dot and Echo Show devices. Alexa enables users to make voice-activated requests such as start the vehicle’s engine, lock and unlock doors, send navigation instructions to the vehicle, check fuel and monitor tire pressure levels. Owners must register with SiriusXM Guardian connected services, then search for and enable the Jeep skill in the skills store in the Alexa app to use Alexa.
