Audi has announced specs and pricing for the updated Q8 SUV range headlined by the arrival of the 50 TDI quattro variant.

 

Priced from $129,900 plus on-road costs, the Q8 50 TDI is powered by a 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 engine augmented by mild hybrid technology to produce 210kW and 600Nm. It’s matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the quattro all-wheel drive system.

 

The identically priced petrol-powered Q8 55 TFSI uses a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 developing 250kW and 500Nm. It’s also standard with the automatic and all-wheel drive.

 

The quattro AWD system is clever enough to send up to 70 per cent of torque to the front and 85 per cent to the rear wheels as dictated by the driving situation.

 

Along with the price, the specification sheet is shared. Both models come standard with the S line exterior package, 21-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights with high beam assist, adaptive suspension with damper control, an electric tailgate, and electrically adjustable/foldable exterior mirrors, with heating and memory.

 

On the inside, buyers get the MMI Navigation plus infotainment system with MMI touch response, Audi’s virtual cockpit, Audi connect plus, wireless smartphone charging, DAB+ digital radio, a 10-speaker Audi sound system, two rear USB outlets, electrically adjustable seats with lumbar support, Valcona leather trim, front seat ventilation and heating, and a sliding rear bench seat with 40:20:40 split-fold.

 

The safety kit includes autonomous emergency braking, adaptive drive assist (adaptive cruise control with stop & go, with traffic jam assist), lane departure warning, pre-sense front and rear, lane change warning, rear cross-traffic assist, a head-up display and a 360 degree camera system.

 

Buyers can option the Premium plus package for $11,100 which adds 22-inch alloy wheels, adaptive air suspension, HD Matrix LED headlights, privacy glass, a 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system, four-zone air conditioning with rear touch control panel and the colour interior lighting package.

  

An optional full leather package, with a suite of additional items in fine Nappa leather is also available for $8900.
