Australian specifications and pricing for the 2018 Audi RS3 have been announced. The fast hatch will open with a price of $80,900 plus on-road costs.

Despite a $4000 price advantage over the sedan, the RS3 Sportback utilises the same 2.5-litre 294kW/480Nm five-cylinder turbo engine, seven-speed S-tronic dual-clutch transmission and quattro all-wheel drive system.

Audi claims the RS3 Sportback completes the 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 4.1 seconds – 0.2 sec faster than the previous model.

For a car looking to win over performance fans the combined fuel consumption figure comes in at a competitive of 8.4L/100km.

For a premium car, the equipment list is generous. Standard kit includes LED headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels, RS sports exhaust, leather trim, Audi’s 12.3-inch virtual cockpit, navigation, premium audio system, in-car Wi-Fi hotspot, DAB+ digital radio and rear view camera.

The RS3 Sportback has been awarded a 5-star safety rating by ANCAP. Standard safety tech includes side assist, active lane assist, adaptive cruise control and rear cross traffic assist.

The all-new Audi RS 3 Sportback is on-sale now.
