As announced back in July, the 2018 Jaguar XJ luxury sports sedan has undergone some significant upgrades for the new model year.
 
Due to go on sale around Australia early in 2018, the XJ will see the inclusion of a new flagship performance model, the XJR575, new technology upgrades and the latest intelligent safety features.
 
The range includes the XJ Premium Luxury, XJ Portfolio, XJ R-Sport, XJR575 and XJ Autobiography trim levels.
 
On offer under the bonnet are diesel and petrol engines. Starting with a 221kW/700Nm 3.0-litre V6 diesel automatic, this is the only diesel on available in the XJ range.
 
Moving up in power is the 250kW/450Nm 3.0-litre V6 supercharged petrol automatic. Then there is the 5.0-litre supercharged petrol automatic available tuned for 375kW of power and 625Nm or the maximum 423kW of power with 700Nm of torque.
 
All engines are mated with the eight-speed automatic ZF transmission which delivers a balance of performance, shift comfort, dynamics and efficiency.
 
2018 Jaguar XJ update highlights include full LED headlights, signature ‘J-Blade’ DRLs, Touch Pro infotainment system, iOS and Andriod connectivity, 10-inch central touchscreen display, 12.3-inch interactive Driver Display and Black Pack option.
 
Also included in the 2018 Model Year updates is a multitude of Driver Assistance systems which include Autonomous Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control with Queue Assist, Reverse Traffic Detection, Blind Spot Monitoring, 360-degree Surround Camera System and semi-automated bay and parallel parking.
