Kia has unveiled the design for the all-new K900 premium sedan.

Created in collaboration with Kia’s global design headquarters in Namyang, Korea and U.S design studio in Irvine, California, the K900 is set to make its world debut at the New York International Auto Show from March 28, 2018.

Kia designers claim they were inspired by the ‘Gravity of Prestige’ design concept when conceptualising the new vehicle.

A new ‘Quadric pattern’ signature grille is a highlight on the K900 featuring 176 jewel-like ‘cells’. Other geometric design details have also been incorporated to produce a modern and technological element.

Other exterior highlights include ‘Duplex’ LED headlamps, a chrome flash along the profile and fine chrome finished tail lights and exhaust housings.

Built on a new platform the K900 is longer, wider and has a larger wheelbase than its predecessor, front and rear overhangs are also shorter, which creates more space for passengers.

Leather and quilted surfaces are found inside as well as a 12.3-inch HMI screen with proximity sensors, manual dial to rotate through infotainment screens and an elegant analogue clock from Maurice Lacroix.

Drivers are also able to customise the cabin with a new mood lighting system, the first in the world that incorporates an ambient lighting system which was developed in partnership with Pantone Color Institute. Seven colours are available with 64 unique settings.

No details of the engine have been released, rumours suggest a 3.8-litre naturally aspirated V6, 5.0-litre naturally-aspirated V8 and 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 engines could be found under the hood.

The all-new Kia K900 will be built in Korea and launch in selected global markets from the second quarter of 2018 when further specifications and pricing will be revealed.
