Local specification and pricing for the 2018 Nissan Qashqai range have been announced, the updated small SUV will open at $26,490 plus on-road costs.

For 2018 the Nissan Qashqai is offered in four grades, ST, ST-L, N-TEC special edition and range-topping Ti.

Interestingly, the TS and TL diesel models have been cut in response to disappointing sales. This leaves the 2.0-litre 106kW/200Nm petrol engine mated to either a six-speed manual or CVT transmission as the only drivetrain options.

There has been a $500 price bump for the base model, however, there is enough additional equipment to easily justify the increase.

All Qashqai models now get autonomous-emergency braking (AEB) with forward collision warning, front and rear parking sensors and lane departure warning as standard.

Opening the range is the ST, the only variant available with a manual transmission. Standard equipment includes LED daytime-running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry and start, 5.0-inch infotainment system, rear-view camera and electric park brake.

Moving to the ST-L adds a much better 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation, DAB+, partial leather trim, heated front seats, electric driver’s seat, a 360-degree camera system with moving object detection, 18-inch alloys, roof rails, fog-lights, electric folding and heated door mirrors and privacy glass.

The N-Tec variant brings some additional luxury features including dusk-sensing adaptive LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, blind spot monitoring, automatic parking assistant, intelligent driver alert and high beam assist.

Due to production delays, the range-topping Ti model won't be available until mid-2018. When it does arrive, the Ti will feature Nappa leather seat trim, adaptive cruise control and lane assist over the N-Tec.

2018 Nissan Qashqai pricing (excludes on-road costs):

ST manual – $26,490
ST CVT - $28,990
ST-L – $32,990
N-Tec – $36,490
Ti – $37,990
