The updated 2018 Peugeot 308 is on its way and will now come packed with new technology and revised styling.

Available in three trim levels – Active, Allure and GTi – the Peugeot has undergone a makeover. All three variants will now feature LED signature lighting incorporated into the headlights with new halogen elliptical module headlights reserved for the Active model with Allure and GTi offering full LED lighting.

Active and Allure models will feature one new bumper design whilst the GTi will get its own new-look bumper.

Even the fuel hatch has ditched its round appearance in favour of a rectangular shape which accommodates the AdBlue filler hole.

At the rear, the three-claw lighting signature will now be permanently illuminated whilst other changes include a darkened headlight protector on the hatchback variant.

Ten body colours will be available on the Peugeot 308 with Pyrite Beige replacing Aluminium Grey. Exclusive to the GTi will be the Coupe Franche which combines Magnetic Blue and Perla Nera Black.

Interior changes and inclusions extend to include PEUGEOT i-Cockpit featuring a compact steering wheel and head-up display, new shift-and-park-by-wire gearbox control with EAT6, a new capacitive sensing touchscreen which controls air conditioning and TomTom 3D navigation and new trim on Active versions known as Meco Mistral fabric with conventionally shaped seating.

The latest generation Peugeot 308 will feature many driving aids as seen on the new Peugeot 3008 which include Active lane departure warning system (Allure and GTi), Driver attention warning system, Automatic headlamp control (Allure and GTi), Speed sign recognition and speed suggestion (Allure and GTi), Active blind spot monitoring system (Allure and GTi) and Park Assist (Allure and GTi).

Also found exclusively on the GTi variant will be a limited-slip Torsen differential, 19-inch Carbone wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres, 380mm front brake discs, red-painted callipers branded PEUGEOT SPORT and 268mm rear brake discs.

Powering the new Peugeot 308 range are three capable motors. For the Active and Allure, a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine capable of 96kW/230Nm matched with an EAT6 six-speed automatic transmission is on offer.

The Allure, and Touring Allure, also has a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine putting down 110kW/370Nm mated with the EAT6 six-speed automatic available.

For the top-of-the-line GTi, a 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine tuned to produce 200kW of power and 330Nm of torque is available. This is matched with a six-speed manual transmission.
