Local specifications and pricing have now been confirmed for the 2019 Jaguar F-PACE SVR, the performance SUV will arrive in Australia in the fourth quarter of this year with a starting price of $140,020 plus on-road costs.

Obviously, this car is all about the engine. Jaguar will deploy a 5.0-litre V8 supercharged petrol engine, tuned by Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) to produce 404kW and 680Nm.

Jaguar is claiming a 0-100km/h time of 4.3 seconds with a top speed of 283km/h.

Power is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. The drive system also includes torque vectoring, adaptive suspension and Jaguar's rear Electronic Active Differential (EAD), this is the first F-PACE model to feature the new active diff.

Distinguishing the F-PACE SVR from the rest of the range are larger air intakes at the front and side fender vents, unique wheel arch extensions, new spoiler and a new bumper that houses the quad tailpipes of the Active Exhaust system which is said to deliver a “charismatic soundtrack.”

The F-PACE SVR will use an uprated chassis with progressive front and rear springs that are 30 and 10 per cent stiffer respectively when compared to regular F-PACE variants. The benefit of this is a 5 per cent reduction in body roll.

New, lightweight forged 21- and optional 22-inch alloy wheels fill the arches. Stopping power comes from uprated 395mm front discs and 396mm rear discs. The brake discs feature an advanced two-piece construction to reduce weight.

On the inside, the F-PACE SVR features performance front seats with signature lozenge quilting and an embossed SVR logo, 4G WiFi for up to eight devices, Touch Pro infotainment system with 10-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch HD instrument cluster.

F-PACE fans will notice the rotary dial gear selector is gone, in its place is a sport shift selector. There’s also an SVR steering wheel with aluminium paddle shifters.

Four interior colour schemes will be available; Red with Jet, Light Oyster with Jet, Siena Tan with Jet and Jet with Light Oyster stitching.

The $140,020 price (before on-roads) compares favourably to other markets, meaning Jaguar hasn’t added the Australia tax that other premium brands often see fit to include (looking at you, Porsche and Maserati). The 2019 Jaguar F-PACE SVR is available to order now.
