Mazda Australia has added a new range-topping Boss variant to the BT-50 line-up priced from $55,990 drive-away.

 

The Boss builds on the GT model by adding a new sound system and a suite of gloss black accessories.

 

Inside, the Boss is equipped with Alpine’s all-new S-Series carbon-fibre reinforced plastic component speakers. The eight-speaker setup includes four 6.5-inch speakers that feature High Amplitude Multi-Roll (HAMR) Surround technology for high linearity and accuracy.

 

On the outside, the Boss is offered exclusively in Snowflake White Pearl Mica, garnished with a gloss black finish on the grille, door handles, mirror caps, sports bar and tubular side steps.

 

There’s also 17-inch black alloy wheels, a soft tonneau cover and a black and white ‘Boss’ decal that runs the length of the body.

 

Standard equipment shared with the GT grade includes black leather trim, an 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat, tailgate central locking, a tub liner, privacy glass, a 12V auxiliary socket and light in the tub, power mirrors, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring.

 

The Boss is powered by the familiar 3.2-litre five-cylinder turbo-diesel engine producing 147kW and 470Nm. Drive is sent to all four wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission.
