Specifications and pricing for the 2019 Mini Countryman Blackheath Edition have been announced with the 60 examples available from $59,990 drive-away.

Inspired by an area of South East London and based on the Countryman Cooper S, the Blackheath essentially wears a ‘black pack’ which brings a variety of black feature points such as Midnight Black metallic paint and 18-inch alloy wheels.

High-gloss black features on the roof and side mouldings with edition-specific brushed black aluminium bonnet stripes at the front.

If that wasn’t enough darkness the headlight surrounds, taillight surrounds, door handles and front grille surrounds are all in black, as is the Countryman lettering on the rear.

Goths will rejoice as the black theme is carried into the cabin with carbon black ‘Leather Cross Punch’ upholstery, anthracite headliner and piano black trim highlights. There are some splashes of chrome to offset the dark look, however.

Added to the Blackheath Edition over the regular specification of the Cooper S is a panorama sunroof, tinted privacy glass and heated front seats incorporate the Climate Package.

The Multimedia Pro Package is also standard which includes the latest Navigation Professional system with an 8.8-inch touchscreen display, a 12-speaker harman/kardon audio system, head-up display and Mini Find Mate system, with two Bluetooth remote tags included.

Power comes from a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine producing 141kW and 280Nm, it’s paired with an eight-speed automatic as standard, though buyers can option a manual.

Only 60 units of the 2019 Mini Countryman Blackheath Edition will be available in Australia priced from $59,990 drive-away.
