The Audi RS3 has returned to Australia following an 18-month absence due to delays brought about by the implementation of new WLTP homologation rules in Europe.
 
Audi will offer the RS3 in Sedan and Sportback body styles priced from $83,800 plus on-road costs.
 
Power comes from the familiar 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 294kW and 480Nm, it’s matched to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and quattro all-wheel drive.
 
For 2020, the RS3 is equipped with a petrol particulate filter (PPF) which is now a requirement under European emissions legislation.
 
Audi claims the RS3 Sedan and Sportback can sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 4.1 seconds and returns 8.5L/100km on the combined cycle.
  
An RS exhaust, RS sport suspension, Audi magnetic ride and 19-inch alloy wheels are included as standard, as is black eight-piston brake calipers with 370mm discs at the front, with 310mm discs at the rear.
 
Further equipment highlights include LED headlights with high beam assist, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster (virtual cockpit), a 7.0-inch MMI Navigation plus infotainment system with MMI Touch, RS sport front seats in Nappa leather, a 14-speaker 705W Bang & Olufsen sound system, wireless phone charging and DAB+ digital radio.
 
The safety kit includes autonomous emergency braking, Audi parking system plus with rear-view camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, traffic jam assist, side assist, active lane assist, and rear cross-traffic assist.
 
Audi is also offering the RS3 Carbon edition for an extra $3400 which adds carbon-fibre mirror caps, a panoramic glass sunroof, Audi rings and logos in gloss black, 19-inch Audi Sport wheels in gloss anthracite black, privacy glass and inlays in carbon twill.
