Specs and pricing have been announced for the 2020 Ford Puma small SUV range ahead of a local arrival in the second half of the year.
 
At launch, Ford will offer three trim levels: Puma, Puma ST-Line and Puma ST-Line V, with prices starting from $29,990 plus on-road costs.
 
All models will be powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 92kW and 170Nm. A seven-speed automatic transmission sends drive to the front wheels. Fuel consumption on the combined cycle is listed at 6.3L/100km.
 
The entry-level Puma gets 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, traffic sign
recognition, cruise control, a driver impairment monitor, rear parking sensors and tyre pressure monitoring.
 
On the inside, standard kit includes an 8.0-inch touchscreen running Ford’s Sync 3 infotainment system with satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, DAB+ radio, Bluetooth, a 180-degree rear-view camera and two USB outlets.
 
Moving to the ST-Line (from $32,340 plus on-roads) adds a unique style pack that features a unique matte black grille, front apron, side skirts, rear apron treatment and an integrated rear spoiler.
 
ST-Line variants also get sports suspension, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a flat-bottom leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters, sports seats, metallic pedals, and red stitching on the seats, dash, door trim and gear selector.
 
The range-topping ST-Line V (from $35,540 plus on-roads) brings larger 18-inch alloy wheels, smart keyless entry, leather-accented seat trim, automatic climate control, privacy glass, a Bang & Olufsen 10-speaker audio system, a powered tailgate, and chrome details on the grille, fog-light bezels, window surrounds and the rear bumper.
 
Buyers can also option a Park Package on all varinats for $1500, ticking the box adds adaptive cruise control with stop & go and lane centring, active park assist (front, side and rear ultrasonic sensors), front parking sensors and blind-spot monitoring.
