Mitsubishi has announced new GLX-R and GSR variants will join the Triton range in March.

Priced from $39,990 drive-away, the GLX-R is positioned between the GLX+ and GLS variants of the current Triton range.

The GLX-R brings 18-inch alloy wheels, large fog lamps, a silver front grille, and chrome applied to the door mirrors, front bumper garnish and door handles.

Moving to the GSR (from $50,990 drive-away) adds 18-inch black alloy wheels, as well as a black grille, headlamp surround, skid plate, door mirrors, door handles and sidesteps.

On the inside, GSR variants feature a 360-degree camera, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, and leather trim on the seats, steering wheel, gear shifter and park brake lever.

Buyers can also option tan orange highlights on the leather seats, orange console box and knee pads.

GSR models will also be available with three tonneau pack options – soft, hard and rolltop. Each pack contains a black sports bar, an under rail tub liner, tailgate assist, cargo tie-down points and a set of floor mats. The hard and Rolltop tonneau packs also include a tailgate lock.

Both models are powered by the familiar 2.4-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine producing 133kW and 400Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels through a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission in the GLX-R, while the GSR is exclusively matched to a six-speed auto.
