Specs and pricing have been announced for the revised 2020 Peugeot 308 range headlined by a new GT-Line variant.

The range opens with the Allure trim which is available in both hatch and wagon body styles. Standard kit includes 16-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry and start, chrome accents, satellite navigation, Apple Carplay and Android Auto.

Autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, a rear-view camera and parking sensors are also standard.

Moving to the range-topping GT-Line adds larger 18-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic glass roof, LED headlights, foglights and sequential front indicators, a sports styling kit, unique badging, and cloth trim with red highlights.

There’s also a sports mode the turns the instrumentation red and displays data from the car's ECU, including levels of power and torque being delivered, turbo boost pressure, plus longitudinal and transverse acceleration.

All models are powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 96kW and 230Nm. Drive goes to the front wheels through a six-speed automatic.

Peugeot says as a result of the sharper drive-away pricing, the diesel variants of the hatch and wagon have been discontinued.

2020 Peugeot 308 pricing (drive-away):

308 Allure Hatch - $31,490
308 Allure Touring Sportswagon - $33,490
