Kia has released teaser images of the new Sorento and confirmed the SUV will make its public debut at the Geneva motor show in March.

The exterior of the fourth-generation of the seven-seat Sorento takes on a boxy look, from the rear it reminds us of the Toyota Kluger.

Interestingly, the Sorento will be the first vehicle based on Kia’s new-generation midsize SUV platform. Kia says “the Sorento raises standards in its segment for practicality, offering space on a par with larger vehicles.”

The new model also marks the first-time the Sorento will be available with a hybrid powertrain.

Kia is also promising a range of advanced driver assistance systems, along with progressive connectivity and infotainment features.

When it reaches Australia, the Sorento will compete with the Holden Acadia, Mazda CX-9 and the Hyundai Santa Fe. There’s also a new version of the aforementioned Kluger on the way.

The new Sorento is scheduled to be revealed on March 3 at the Geneva motor show.
