Following the update to the Ghibli, specs and pricing have been announced for the 2021 Maserati Levante SUV range.

Priced from $127,000 plus on-road costs and available now, the updated Levante gets a revised grille design which is finished in chrome on GranLusso variants and piano black on GranSport models. There’s also new boomerang LED tail-lights across the line-up.

Inside, the instrument cluster gets a makeover but still includes two analogue dials flanking a 7.0-inch driver information display screen.

Unfortunately, the Levante misses out on the larger 10.1-inch infotainment screen that’s now standard on the sedans, instead, the SUV retains the 8.4-inch unit. Thankfully, the screen will run the new Maserati Intelligent Assistant multimedia system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and over-the-air software updates.

All Levante models are now equipped with Active Driving Assist, the tech works with the adaptive cruise control to keep the car centred in its lane while maintaining a safe distance from the car in front. Maserati says the system will work on any well-maintained road at speeds of up to 145km/h.

Moving to the powertrains, the Levante 350, GranLusso and GranSport use a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine producing 257kW of power and 500Nm of torque. It’s matched to an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive.

Maserati claims a 6.0-second 0-100km/h time and a 251km/h top speed.

The Levante S models use the same engine, however, the outputs jump to 321kW and 580Nm. It’s also paired with an eight-speed auto and all-wheel drive.

Powering the GTS is a 410kW/730Nm 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8, mated to an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. It’s good for a 4.2-second 0-100km/h sprint and a 292km/h top speed.

The range-topping Trofeo bumps the outputs of the 3.8-litre turbo V8 to 427kW and 730Nm. The extra thrust cuts the 0-100km/h dash to 4.1 seconds while the top speed climbs to 302km/h.
