Mazda Australia has announced specification levels for the launch variants of the new BT-50 ute range.

While pricing is yet to be confirmed, initially, Mazda will offer the dual cab across XT, XTR and GT trim levels. The entry-level XT will be available in both cab chassis and pickup configurations, while the XTR and GT models will be only offered as a pickup.

As with the related Isuzu D-Max, the BT-50 is powered by a 3.0-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine producing 140kW and 450Nm, it’s matched with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic.

XT and XTR models will be available as a 4x2 with an automatic transmission.

Every BT-50 has a braked towing capacity of 3500kg, a payload of between 1055-1106 kg (depending on the variant) and an 800mm wading depth.

Pricing will be announced closer to the BT-50’s October launch.
