Updates to the 2021 Mazda CX-3 range have been announced which include details of the limited-edition 100th Anniversary model.
Limited to 70 units nationally, the CX-3 100th Anniversary Special Edition is based on the high-spec Akari front-wheel drive automatic grade. It will feature Snowflake White Pearl Mica paintwork and Burgundy leather upholstery in a nod to the R360, Mazda’s first passenger vehicle.
Other highlights for the special edition include 100th Anniversary embossed headrests as well as the body sides, hub caps, key fobs and interior floor mats adorned with bespoke badging.
Moving to the wider range, a new Maxx Sport LE variant has also been permanently added to the line-up, slotting in between the Maxx Sport and sTouring grades.
The Maxx Sport LE is differentiated by Tan Grand Luxe trim, a suede-like material, and Pure White leatherette upholstery with black piping.
For 2021, every CX-3 gains a tweaked seat design with a newly developed internal structure, an upgraded Mazda Connect infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with refreshed key fobs and badging.
There is also a boost to safety with the addition of Smart City Brake Support (Mazda terminology for autonomous emergency braking) across the range which brings night-time pedestrian detection. Maxx Sport and Maxx Sport LE variants also gain auto-dimming for the rear-view mirror while the sTouring grade gets high beam control and lane departure warning.
Buyers can also option a new Polymetal Grey Metallic exterior paint.

All CX-3 varinats are powered by a 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine which develops 110kW of power and 195Nm of torque. A choice of front- or all-wheel drive is available depending on the grade as well as a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.
The updated 2021 Mazda CX-3 range will go on sale in the latter part of January priced from $22,890 plus on-road costs.
