The updated 2021 Nissan Navara has been unveiled featuring enhanced safety and comfort along with revised styling.

Nissan says the 2021 Navara sports a ‘more extroverted and athletic design’ with a restyled front fascia with interlock grille, model name embossing on the front grille and across the full width of the rear tailgate, all-new c-shaped quad-LED headlamps and LED tail-lamps, new side step finishers and a new rear bumper design with an integrated step.

Internally the cabin serenity has been improved with increased sound-deadening insulation, a new steering wheel, additional USB ports, a redesigned instrument panel with a 7.0-inch driver information display, and an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen running the Nissan Connect platform.

Those in the second row get improved rear seat cushions and back shapes as well as the addition of a rear armrest with built-in cup holders.

Safety upgrades include forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, driver alertness monitor, lane departure warning, lane intervention, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, and an around-view monitor with moving object detection.

Rain-sensing wipers with wiping speed adjustment, speed-sensing door locks and auto-folding mirrors will also be available.

A new PRO-4X grade will also be introduced which will bring a black Nissan emblem, a black front bumper, grille, door handles, roof racks and running boards accented by 17-inch black wheels and all-terrain tyres with hints of red accents splashed inside and out.

The current 2.3-litre turbo and twin-turbo four-cylinder diesel engines will be carried into the updated Navara, with a single turbo it produces 120kW and 403Nm, while the twin-turbo version offers 140kW and 450Nm.

Buyers will have a choice of either a six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic transmission.

The updated Nissan Navara will be available in Australia from early 2021. Stay tuned!
