General Motors Specialty Vehicles (GMSV) has confirmed Australian pricing for the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette ahead of a showroom arrival towards the end of the year.

The first factory-made right-hand drive Corvette will start at $144,990 plus on-road costs for the 2LT coupe and peaks at $175,500 plus on-roads for the 3LT convertible.

A limited-edition Corvette Carbon Edition will also be available at launch priced from $189,990 plus on-roads

Power comes from a mid-mounted naturally-aspirated 6.2-litre V8 engine producing 364kW of power and 630Nm of torque. It’s matched to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that drives the rear wheels.

Performance-wise, the 0-100km/h sprint takes 2.9 seconds which compares favourably to the more expensive Porsche 911.

Equipment highlights include a nose-lift system, a head-up display, a 14-speaker Bose sound system, and the Z51 Performance Pack which includes a dual-mode exhaust, adaptive Magnetic Ride Control suspension, larger Brembo brakes, an electronic limited-slip differential, a front splitter, rear spoiler, and additional cooling for the engine.

Limited to one car for each of the 54 dealer, the Carbon Edition adds carbon-fibre dashboard and door inserts, unique 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels, colour-coded brake calipers, a carbon-fibre roof, an engine appearance light package, a Carbon Edition build plate and a customer welcome pack.

The order books for the 2022 Chervrolet Corvette are open now.
