The In Motion Group, trading as ALPINA Automobiles – Australia has announced it will offer Australian customers the opportunity to purchase BMW Alpina models.

There is plenty of history surrounding the Alpina name, the company was founded in 1965 and has built its reputation on customising cars from BMW.

The company reports sales of between 1,200 – 1,700 cars each year. This is impressive considering the bespoke nature of Alpina’s offerings.

Initially, In Motion will offer Alpina cars based on BMW 3 and 4 Series models. The BMW Alpina B3 Bi-Turbo in sedan and touring body styles will be accompanied by B4 Bi-Turbo coupe and convertible.

BMW Alpina models undergo modifications to the chassis, drivetrain, and suspension, along with the exterior and interior. There is also an extensive list of interior trim and material options to ensure each vehicle is truly unique, this gives each owner the chance to individualise their car.

At launch, In Motion will sell Alpina models through its BMW dealerships at Doncaster and Bundoora in Melbourne. The Alpina dealership network will no doubt expand in due course. The first models are expected to be available for potential customers to experience in November.

BMW Alpina models should appeal to fans of the brand who are after something a bit different. With BMW now having an extensive line-up of vehicles, the Alpina models will offer a way for customers to differentiate their cars from the brand’s regular offerings while still enjoying the fundamental qualities of a BMW.

With this level of customisation, it will be interesting to see where these cars fit into the market in terms of their pricing.

We look forward to starting a Car Conversation with potential Alpina buyers and enthusiasts.
