BMW has revealed the dressed-up X2 M Mesh Edition ahead of an Australian launch in 2021.

In Australia, the Mesh Edition will be based on the X2 sDrive20i M Sport X Package variant meaning power comes from a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 141kW and 280Nm.

A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission sends power to the front wheels. BMW claims the Mesh Edition can sprint from a standstill to 100km/h in 7.7 seconds.

The X2 M Mesh Edition is differentiated by a mesh kidney grille finished in high-gloss black, Frozen Black-Brown metallic inserts in the bumper trim, the cladding on the side skirts and doors and the wheel arch trim.

There’s also decals on the bonnet, the sides of the front bumper and the front and rear doors. The colour of the decals is also found on the inserts of the 20-inch alloy wheels.

A high-gloss black finish is also found on the window surrounds, exterior mirror surrounds, mirror base, mirror triangle, B-pillar trim and trim surround on the C-pillars.

On the inside, the M sport seats with integral head restraints and the rear bench feature a blend of Mocha Dakota leather and Anthracite-coloured Alcantara.

Orange contrast stitching can be found on the seats, instrument panel and centre console, while the floor mats have orange edge binding.

BMW Australia will confirm local specs and pricing ahead of the X2 M Mesh Edition’s 2021 launch.
