Another day, another high spec ute. Today it’s Holden’s turn with the brand revealing the new Colorado Z71 Xtreme.

Based on the celebrated Colorado Xtreme concept vehicle, first unveiled at the 2016 Bangkok Motor Show, the Colorado Z71 Xtreme will give Holden a ute to compete with the recently released Toyota HiLux Rugged and Rugged X, however, it’s being touted as a limited edition.

Like the new HiLux variants, the Z71 Xtreme is decked out at Holden HQ in Port Melbourne. It’s priced at $69,990 drive-away which according to Holden includes over $19,000 of genuine accessories.

To give the Z71 Xtreme some additional off-road capability over the donor ute, it features a winch system equipped with a heavy-duty bash plate, with a 4535kg load capacity via a 30m synthetic line.

Other enhancements include revised front suspension, all-terrain rubber, fender flares, LED light bar, roof tray, steel rear step, steel side steps, a tow pack and stickers.

The 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine that powers the rest of the Colorado range is found under the bonnet, it develops 147kW and 500Nm. It’s paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.

The Colorado Z71 Xtreme is set to arrive in showrooms from October 1 priced at $69,990 drive-away.
