The 2019 Detroit motor show will host the reveal of Infiniti’s first fully-electric crossover vehicle in January. A new design language for electrification will be revealed which is said to be infused with Japanese DNA.

Electrification allows for more interior space which Infiniti suggest can be translated to a lounge-like interior which is rich in welcoming and assistive technologies.

It was announced back in January that Infiniti would electrify its portfolio from 2021 using e-POWER (serial hybrid) or pure EV powertrains with this impending unveiling another step towards the goal.

2018 has seen Infiniti reveal the Q Inspiration and Prototype 10 which offered glimpses of a futuristic design language with the 2019 NAIAS in January set to demonstrate how these elements will come together as the future of Infiniti in an era of electrification.

Karim Habib, Executive Design Director, Infiniti, commented: “The concept car we will show in Detroit is the beginning of a new era for Infiniti, and an illustration of where we want to go with the brand. Electrification and other new technologies have given us the opportunity to evolve our design philosophy.”

This news comes on the back of Infiniti’s best November sales in the 29-year history of the brand.
