Lamborghini has achieved record sales growth in 2018 with 5750 vehicles delivered to customers worldwide representing a 51 per cent increase over 2017.

With the dealership network sitting at 157 across 50 countries 2018 was a fruitful year and the culmination of the marque more than quadrupling its sales numbers since 2010.

The United States remains the largest single market for Lamborghini with 1595 units sold there, more than double the next largest market, the UK with 636 sales, followed by Japan (559), Germany (463), China (342), Canada (316) and Italy (295).

On a model-by-model breakdown, the flagship Aventador performed well with 3 per cent growth to register 1209 units, up from 1173. The Huracan performed even better with a 5 per cent growth to reach 2780 sales, up from 2642.

The largest growth has come from the newly minted Urus SUV which found 1761 buyers since its market release in July 2018. The popularity of the Urus should see it become Lamborghini’s most popular model in 2019.

Locally, Lamborghini’s Australian dealers sold 112 car, down from the 122 in 2017.
