Subaru has pulled the covers off its new XV at the Geneva motor show.

At this stage all known specifications are for European models, Australian specification will be released in mid-year.

The new XV will be built on the Subaru Global Platform, the same platform that underpins the new Impreza.

It is an evolutionary design for the exterior. The XV maintains its compact shape and rugged character.

There are two new colours solid, Cool Gray Khaki and Sunshine Orange.

New safety features are where the action is on the new XV. The new model will incorporate Subaru's EyeSight Driver Assist technology. EyeSight brings preventive safety to the XV and reduces driver burdens through features such as Pre-Collision Braking Control, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Keep Assist.

The Rear Vehicle Detection package will also be available. The package offers blind spot detection, lane change assistance and reversing assistance to enhance preventive safety.
